Montgomery County Events
Date: Monday, February 11, 2008 At 09:00:00 AM
Repeat Event: Every Day until February 15, 2008

Registration is from February 11th to Februarty 15th from 9:00am to 2:00pm at all Elementary Schools in Montgomery County.

Preschool is offered to eligible children who are four years old by September 30, 2008 at the following schools: Auburn Elementary, Margaret Beeks Elementary, Price’s Fork Elementary, Kipps Elementary, Belview Elementary, Christiansburg Primary, Falling Branch Elementary, Elliston-Lafayette Elementary, Shawsville Elementary, and Gilbert Linkous Elementary. Please call the school in your attendance area to find out if your child is eligible to enroll in preschool.

Kindergarten is offered at all elementary schools. All children are eligible to enter kindergarten in the fall of 2008 if they are five years of age by September 30, 2008. This is in accordance with changes found in the 1990 cumulative supplement to the Virginia School Laws.

State law and Montgomery County School Board policies require parents to provide the child’s birth certificate and social security card when a child enrolls in a public school. Parents/guardians will be asked for proof of residence (utility bill, rent/lease agreement, etc.) before a child can attend school in the fall. The School Entrance Physical Examination and Immunization Certification form must be completed by a medical doctor.

All enrollment forms are available on the Montgomery County Public Schools’ website at http://www.mcps.org/. These forms can be downloaded, filled out, and taken to your child’s school when you go to enroll. Questions should be directed to the school in which the child expects to enroll. You may contact individual schools about special events that may be planned.
