On Saturday, December 6, 2008, Lane Stadium will be hosting the Division V and VI Championship football games for the state of Virginia.It will be a double header with the first game beginning at 12:00 p.m. and the second at 4:00 p.m. The games will be broadcast by Cox Communications.Tickets will be sold in advance at the Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce and Christiansburg High School, as well as at the gate, for $10.
The Division 6 Championship will be decided between Osbourn and Oscar Smith and the Division 5 game features Phoebus versus Dinwiddie.
Championship t-shirts will also be available prior to the games as well as on-site. Local high school bands will also be on hand to perform at the games.
Blacksburg High School’s Advanced Sports Marketing class has created flyers to go out to MCPS-area schools, as well as an “open event” on Facebook.com for Facebook members to get details about the event.
