Asbury United Methodist Church in Christiansburg will celebrate Black History Month, February 2008, in a series of four Sunday worship services designed to provide the community an opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers on issues related to the Black community. The speakers will share their views on the Black experience from different perspectives. New River Valley community members are invited to attend and participate in all four Sunday services; February 3 through February 24, each of which begins at 11:00 a.m. “This should be a rich and informative experience,” says Rev. Lyle E. Morton, Asbury’s Pastor. “We strongly believe it is good for both the Black community and the larger community to spend this time reflecting on our past experiences and what lies before us, in our search to improve the lives of all of us.”
On February 10th, Ms. Mekeisha, P. Williams, Director, University Organizational Development, Virginia Tech, will bring the message.
On February 17th, Christiansburg High School Principal, who will speak.��
