Roanoke's largest Fourth of July celebration featuring live music by the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, food and fireworks at the River's Edge Sports Complex . Gaes open at 5:00pm Wednesday for picnics, vendors and a pre-show family fun zone. Concert of dance music from throughout the years by the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra begins at 8. Fireworks begin at 9:30. There is no on-site parking available. A shuttle service will begin at 5 p.m. with two pick-up/drop-off locations: Downtown parking garage at the corner of Williamson and Franklin roads and Virginia Western Community College parking lot on Colonial Avenue. Shuttles are handicapped accessible. No admission charge. Make sure to bring chairs, blankets and picnics. DON'T bring alcohol, fireworks, pets, tents, grills and large umbrellas.
