The Town of Blacksburg is exploring ways to sustain our historic district as one of the key elements of a revitalized downtown. To that end, we are holding an Open House meeting seeking input from residents, business owners, and patrons of the downtown Sixteen Squares. This meeting will be on Thursday, May 1 from 4 pm to 7 pm in the Kent Square Lobby (at the corner of Main Street and Washington Street.) You may stop by anytime during the program. We will have information and ideas that arose from a committee formed to study the Sixteen Squares. The committee has been working with the Community Design Assistance Center at Virginia Tech, and their work seeks to Identify, Educate, Preserve, and Develop the Sixteen Squares. We need your input to help us refine these ideas. The meeting is free and open to the public. There will be activities for children, as well.
