Kim Weitkamp tells Ghost Stories at sinkland Farms. Click here to see her in action! |

What a better way to usher in Halloween than with spooky stories around a bonfire? Sinkland Farms is thrilled to be able to present well known storyteller, Kim Weitkamp, Saturday, October 25, from 4PM to 5 PM. Kim loves telling her Halloween Stories, many of them original, and has rated them from ‘2 pumpkins’ for grade school children all the way up to ‘5 pumpkins’ for high school students and adults. “5 pumpkin stories are not for the timid and she adds, there is not too much gore.” In the tradition of Edgar Allen Poe and Alfred Hitchcock, Kim promises to make it a memorable night.
As a newcomer, her impressive performance list includes Timpfest in Orem, Utah, the Exchange Stage in Jonesborough TN, the historic Lyric Theater in Virginia, the Northeast Storytelling Festival, the Storytelling Festival of the Carolinas, The Smoky Mountains Festival in Pigeon Forge TN, The Colonial Williamsburg Storytelling Festival and many others. She holds residencies at the Montgomery County Museum, the June Bug Center for Storied Arts and the Lewis Miller Art Center. She currently serves as President of the Virginia Storytelling Alliance and is the Virginia State rep for the National Youth Storytelling Showcase. She is also a commissioned performer for the Virginia Commission of the Arts.
Halloween Costume Parade:

Special Night -Extra Discout
Storytelling Halloween Night:
As a special bonus this year, Sinkland Farms will be open on Halloween Night, October 31, for an extra night of Storytelling beginning at 6 PM.
If you come in costume that night, hayride to patch is $1.00 off and night corn maze (bring flash lights) is $2.00 off.
With the 15th Season coming to a close, we hope that you have enjoyed this year’s Pumpkin Festival. We also hope that you were able to create your own ‘family tradition’ for a lifetime of wonderful memories. There are still plenty of pumpkins, squash and gourds marking the colors of autumn. With the hayrides to the pumpkin patch, carriage and pony rides, a journey through a 12 foot high corn maze, a trip to the “Barnyard” and antique farm equipment, you might just stumble upon your very own “Great Pumpkin.” And if you get hungry along the way, you can choose kettle corn from granny’s antique pot to authentic home-style southern cooking. There’s also ‘ole time’ Bluegrass music on stage every weekend afternoon to complete that autumn festival atmosphere.
